About us
Calderdale Model Aircraft Club was set up sometime in the 1940's (trying to find out more details) to cater for model flying in and around the Halifax area.
Today it is a friendly club with a good mix of egg whisks (helicopters), planks (fixed wing) and even some control line!! We have old duffers and wet-behind-the-ear spring chickens.
There is usually someone flying at the main site most afternoons at the weekends and on Tuesday and Thursday nights throughout the summer.
Here are some good reasons for joining club:-
  • Private flying field with:-
    • Mown grass strip
    • Rural location away from any major obstacles
    • Parking on field within easy reach of flight line.
    • Flying 365 days a year from 10am till 9pm.
  • Access to second council site.
  • Access to various local slope sites
  • Affiliated with the BMFA, insurance included in BMFA membership.
  • Training for novices.
  • Club trainer available for use.
Come and fly with us…you know you want to!!
